Pilgrimage · temple & rite journeys

Rites performed in the place they belong.

Ancestral rite yatras, temple circuits and festival travel, arranged with priests and coordinators on the ground in India, and booked from a counter in Brickfields.

A pilgrimage is not a holiday and it does not survive being treated like one. The rites have a place and an order, temples keep darshan hours that will not move for a late coach, and a family travelling to perform Tarpana for a parent has enough on its mind without also managing hotels and drivers.

So we take the arrangements and leave the observance to the priests. Two programmes run regularly, the Arupadai Veedu circuit through Tamil Nadu and the Gaya, Prayagraj and Kashi yatra, and we build private journeys for families and temple groups on their own dates.

What is observed

The rites and circuits

  • Pitru Tarpana & Pind Daan at Gaya

Sankalpam, Tarpanam and Pind Daan under Guruji's guidance, with Falgu River prayers, Vishnupad Temple darshan and Akshaya Vat prayers where applicable. The evening before is set aside to prepare your family and ancestor details.

  • Triveni Sangam at Prayagraj

An early morning boat out to the confluence of the Ganga and the Yamuna for the holy bath, Sankalpam and Tarpanam, before continuing on to Kashi.

  • Kashi darshan

Sri Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Annapurna Devi Temple, Kala Bhairava Temple, Manikarnika Ghat and Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, subject to timing, with the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.

  • Arupadai Veedu, the six abodes

All six Padai Veedu temples of Lord Murugan in the traditional order: Thiruparankundram, Thiruchendur, Palani, Swamimalai, Tiruttani and Pazhamudircholai, with darshan planned around temple opening hours.

  • Temple circuits & festival travel

Tamil Nadu temple routes, Kerala and North India circuits, and travel timed to festival dates. Tell us which days you need to be where, and we build the route backwards from that.

  • Groups from Malaysian temples

Whole-sabha and whole-temple groups on one coordinator, one quote and one rooming list. The Gaya and Kashi yatra runs in collaboration with the Malaysian Indian Funeral Association Malaysia.

What we arrange

The travel, the timing and the ground handling. The rites are led by the priests at each site, as they should be.

Ask about a yatra
  • Return flights from Kuala Lumpur, and the ticketing changes when plans move
  • Hotels near the temples rather than wherever is cheapest across town
  • Private air-conditioned transport and airport transfers throughout
  • Vegetarian meals as stated in the programme
  • Darshan coordination against temple timings, not against our convenience
  • India e-Visa lodged from our Brickfields counter alongside the ticket

Before you go

Good to know

Physical demands
Palani has a hill ascent, reachable by rope car or winch car as well as by steps. Ghats and temple corridors mean standing and walking on uneven stone. Tell us who is travelling and we plan around it.
Dress
Traditional dress is expected at most of these temples and some sanctums have their own requirements. We will tell you what applies where before you pack.
Bring for the rites
Names and details of the family and ancestors the rites are for. Basic pooja materials are included where the programme says so; extra priest Dakshina, private poojas and special materials are not.
Documents
A passport valid at least six months beyond travel, and an India e-Visa, which we lodge for you. Bring any previous Indian passport or OCI card. That history has to be declared.

Questions

Pilgrimage questions

Can you arrange the rites for one family on our own dates?

Yes. Both programmes run as private journeys as well as group departures. Tell us the dates, how many are travelling and which rites you need performed, and we build the itinerary and the quote around that.

Do you arrange the priest, or do we?

The Gaya and Kashi yatra is spiritually led throughout by Guruji Shri Ragu Veeranandha Ji. For other journeys we coordinate with priests on the ground in India. If your family has its own purohit or a temple you always use, we work with them instead.

Are the meals vegetarian?

Vegetarian meals are included on the Gaya and Kashi yatra as stated in the programme. On other pilgrimage journeys we arrange vegetarian catering as a matter of course, tell us about any further dietary needs when you book.

How far ahead should we book?

Earlier is better, because the flights and the hotels near the temples are the constraint rather than our availability. For the Gaya and Kashi yatra the balance falls due 45 days before departure, so that is the practical floor.

What if a temple is closed when we arrive?

Darshan hours move around prayer times, festivals and temple decisions, and no agency can override that. We plan against published timings and keep the day loose enough to absorb a change, the itineraries say “subject to timing” because that is honest.
